Still waiting… a letter to the editor from Jay Selthofner asking for action on pending Wisconsin Marijuana Legislation.

Industrial Hemp means jobs in a variety sectors producing products for food, fuel and fiber industries. While healing patients, Medical Marijuana means jobs and improved healthcare opportunities. California is not taxing green dollars from recreational cannabis, yet. Wisconsin could lead the way in model legislation for the nation, by regulating, taxing and providing improved public safety for our citizens by legalizing marijuana. The outcome of the recent State Assembly election could be interpreted to mean nearly 1 out of 10 voters in our area believe marijuana reform should be Wisconsin ’s top priority.
Marijuana is fundamentally a bipartisan issue. The recent state assembly election saw all three candidates on record with support of Medical Marijuana. As the smoke clears about marijuana use and the facts emerge, comprehensive legislation is just one voice in the legislative process away.
Will there be a lame duck session with last minute legislation this fall? Will Joan Ballweg get the Industrial Hemp (AB206) bill she sponsored into law yet in 2010? Will Ballweg help the Medical Marijuana (AB554) become law? Call her at 888-534-0041 and find out. Also make two more calls with your support of reform, Senator Olson 608-267-4350 and Governor Doyle 608-266-1212.
Patiently waiting, Jay Selthofner from Green Lake
