Send Rich to the NORML Conference and Lobby Day in Washington D.C.
NORML’s 2017 Conference at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC and Congressional Lobby Day at the United States Capitol is scheduled for September 10th-12th. Hundreds of marijuana consumers, activists, patients and business owners are expected to attend a day-long training and informational conference on Monday and re-convene on the Hill Tuesday to personally lobby their elected members of the House of Representatives and Senate.
We need your help to make sure a Wisconsin activist can make this journey. Our chapter has nominated Richard Martin, our current Executive Director of Northern Wisconsin NORML and we are asking for your donation today to help make this trip possible.
During the conference, Rich will meet and network with like minded activists from across the country, and his time on Capitol Hill will ensure that our message from Wisconsin is brought face-to-face to those in Congress who need to hear it the most.
Rich will be lobbying for expanded protections for those states that have reformed their laws, and to protect the progress that we have made from Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his rogue Justice Department. Time and time again, AG Sessions has made it clear that he thinks those of us who consume cannabis are “not good people.” Rich, along with many others will be in the halls of Congress to set the record straight.
Richard A. Martin, Jr. (NORML Rich) grew up in the Fox Valley. He graduated from Appleton West High School in 1985. He joined the Military after that, and is a 12 year veteran of the United States Army, where he he served as a medic during Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Operation Joint Endeavor. Rich is also a member of the American Legion, Appleton Post 38, an avid sportsman and fisherman, and is a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
