Bumped marijuana segment sends feedback to ABC
Friday night many people from all walks of life waited to hear Joey’s story. Medical Marijuana saved a young autistic boys life and this segment on ABC’s 20/20 was no doubt going to move more and more voters to demand a rescheduling of cannabis immediately.
So without the airing of the segment, what happened in the cannabis movement? The viewers waiting to watch the story who will eventually share it with millions turned to ABC to let the network know their individual feelings on the segment not airing. I would imagine the emails also provided some support for reform of marijuana laws along the way, I know mine did.
Being an activist, I try to do something meaningful everyday to further the movement. Large corporate media networks will play an important role in the distribution of information. Take time today to let ABC 20/20 know how important the issue is to you.
According to various media outlets; the contacts from viewers reached ABC and they listened. The network has been in contact with Mieko (Joey’s mother) and the segment may be aired on June 18th (check your local listings). You may email at abc.mediarelations@abc.com – subject line: I support Joey’s mom.
