Activists urged to contact Senate before the November 17th scheduled hearing and urge the Senate to reject the nomination of Michele Leonhart, Obama’s Drug Warrior Nominee
Late last week National NORML issued an action alert. The alert was covered on Northern Wisconsin NORML Blog and shared with Wisconsin and Madison NORML chapters. Time is running out for you to contact your Senator before the November 17th scheduled hearing and urge the Senate to reject the nomination of Michele Leonhart, Obama’s Drug Warrior Nominee.
The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) ask activists to engage the Senate before the November 17th scheduled hearing and urge the Senate to reject the nomination of Michele Leonhart, Obama’s Drug Warrior Nominee. In a recent blog, NORML‘s Deputy Director Paul Armentano followed up on the report from the National Journal.
U.S. Dept of Justice - Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
The blog contains important excerpts from The National Journal article and closes out with a call for additional action from the field force.
Ms. Leonhart’s actions and ambitions are incompatible with common sense marijuana law reform and the stated policies of this administration. Please urge the Senate to reject this nomination. For your convenience, a pre-written letter will be e-mailed to your member of the U.S. Senate when you click here. You can also call your U.S. Senate office here.
Marijuana Policy Project
I also received an email from the Marijuana Policy Project indicated Wisconsin citizens need to listen up in particular and take action today by communicating with Senators Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold.
We are writing to you because your senators, Sen. Herb Kohl and Sen. Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, sit on the Judiciary Committee. We need you to urge them to press Ms. Leonhart on her plans for the future. If she does not pledge to respect state medical marijuana laws, she does not deserve to be confirmed as administrator.
