LTE: It’s bad for you
The Journal Sentinel has no doubt received many dissents to the two bizarre columns advocating that pot be legalized (“Time for a blunt conversation,” Crossroads, Dec. 2). I would hope that the authors of those dissents disagree on the basis of health effects on the pot user, for that is the only pertinent test.
Does pot affect the consciousness of the user such that he can’t think clearly or operate machinery? Say, then, simply, it’s bad for you. No matter that alcohol is legal – that battle was lost/won 90 years go.
And no way can pot be justified on the basis that a lot of poor young people are in jail for selling it. Each knew the penalty when he dealt the stuff.
