Social Media Activism Storm: Attorney General Josh Kaul
Day Five of Wisconsin NORML Social Media Storm, and our campaign comes to a close today! Thank you all for the support! Today’s focus is Attorney General Josh Kaul, who is a supporter of medical cannabis legalization. We hope to push his hand to de-prioritize cannabis prosecution, and essentially decriminalize all of Wisconsin.

“We are in the midst of an opioid epidemic and when people are facing pain issues, I would much rather have a doctor prescribing medical marijuana than an opioid,” Kaul said.
Kaul says the epidemic is the most significant public safety issue facing Wisconsin and the country, and progress is being made. The most recent data shows a 29-percent decrease in the number of opioids dispensed in 2018, compared to 2015. To keep the momentum going against opioids, Kaul is advocating for medical marijuana to be legalized in Wisconsin as an alternative to opioids.
Recently, Wisconsin NORML and Madison NORML teamed up on a letter writing campaign to tell Josh Kaul to stop prosecution, and that link is here to get involved!

Our goal in this storm is to tell Kaul, if the Representatives do not want to pass Governor Evers’ budget and legalize medical cannabis while decriminalizing cannabis possession. Then it is Josh Kaul’s responsibility to act in line with his views, and stop prosecution on a plant that can be used to help with the opioid crisis.
