Assembly Rep Dallman (R-Green Lake) 2021 spring Mobile Office Hours

| | | | | | | |

Town Hall Meetings, Listening Sessions, In District Office Hours and/or Mobile Office hours are an excellent time to meet with your elected officials one on one. No matter what they call them or label these events, they are your opportunity to either start or continue to build a relationship with your elected officials. Always remember to bring something of value to the table and if you can, bring other constituents from the district that support your issue with you.  If you plan to attend and need background information and/or talking points or are reporting the results of your meeting you can always contact me directly.

Now finding out about these ‘events’ is the hardest part. With no uniformity in the legislature, some reps put out info in emails. That is where I found Rep. Dallman Mobile Office Hour notice. Some elected officials post and create events on facebook or other social media and some submit press releases. Point is, learn who your Senator and Assembly Representative is and following them on social media and subscribe to their email alerts!

Rep. Dallman is my assembly representative for district 41. He was just elected in November 2020.

Alex Dallman from Green Lake provided this stance as a candidate: “My current stance on Marijuana Reform would be against legalization of recreational use. I am also currently opposed to medicinal, but I am more open to exploring this side of it.” He added on the topic of decriminalization: “For simple possession of small amount, I am in favor.”

Wi Eye interviewed Alex Dallman on July 9, 2020 ; in which Dallman added the “slippery slope” theory to his list opposition {editor note slippery slope and gateway theories are debunked and not backed by fact}, stating he is worried medical marijuana leads quickly to recreational marijuana”. Leary about adding a new drug (marijuana) into our society and our environment and hopefully we can stay away from that. Here is that interview cued up and ready to go and the pot part.

I spoke to Rep. Dallman on the phone for about 15 minutes to provide him background on the Republican attempts to decriminalize marijuana going back to the 2017 legislation. I asked him to co-sponsor Assembly Bill 130, the 2021 Republican version of marijuana decriminalization. He did not co-sponsor the bill.

District Map of Assembly District 41. Primarily Adams, Marquette and Green Lake Counties including Wisconsin Dells and Lake Delton in Sauk County.
