The campaign of Jay Selthofner, Independent Candidate for Wisconsin State Assembly in District 41 presented his campaign platform during the From the Land Art Festival.  Food, fuel and fiber, along with the potential jobs industrial hemp could bring, caught the attention of many.  The From the Land Folk Art Festival is now looking forward to reaching the decade mark, celebrating the 10th year anniversary in 2011 with featured artisans, vendors, food, song and education all with a common theme of “coming from the land.”

Selthofner’s campaign platform for restoration of hemp cannabis based agriculture and industries in Wisconsin was featured at this venue.  Despite the rainy weather, turnout was high.  Many attendees commented that although they supported marijuana reform, they had no idea industrial hemp was so versatile.  The aspect of food crops and fuel crops from the marijuana plant intrigued most voters.

The unique setting of the From the Land Folk Festival, which is held on the Toll/Londowski Family Farm each year, was a great opportunity to meet Jay Selthofner, as well as his supporters and family.  The organizer and brain child or the event, Jan Londowski, is also the candidate’s mother in law.  The rain made literature damp and soggy, but the hemp paper held up strongly in the face of adversity, just as Selthofner’s spirits have during the event and entire campaign.

This event was no different then most Selthofner has been at, in that the reception he received was very supportive.
