AD 61 Activists Needed: Candidates Need to Hear From Us Before the Primary!
Friends,
The August primary is less than 30 days away, and the time to influence candidates is NOW—not after they’re elected.
Today we’re spotlighting the three-way Democratic primary for Wisconsin Assembly District 61, a district that also falls within the highly competitive Senate District 21 race. The people elected here could play an important role in the future of cannabis and hemp policy in Wisconsin.
AD 61 includes Greendale, Hales Corners, most of Greenfield, and parts of southwest Milwaukee and northeast Franklin.
We’ve done the homework for you.
We’ve gathered candidate contact information, sent every candidate our cannabis policy questionnaire, and made it easy for you to reach out.
So far, only Lawanda Chambers has taken the time to respond. Her completed questionnaire has been published on our website for everyone to read.
Now we need YOU.
If you live in the district—or know someone who does—please take a few minutes to contact every candidate. Thank Lawanda for her support and ask the others where they stand on cannabis reform, hemp regulation, patients’ rights, personal freedom, and Wisconsin small businesses.
Don’t assume they’ll hear from someone else. They need to hear from YOU.
One email.
One phone call.
One conversation.
That’s often all it takes to put an issue on a candidate’s radar.

Let’s make sure the cannabis community is represented.
If you’re able to attend, ask a respectful question. Introduce yourself afterward. Tell the candidates why cannabis and hemp reform matters to your family, your business, your health, or your community.
Politicians repeatedly say that meeting voters on the campaign trail shapes how they understand issues and influences the priorities they take with them to Madison.
This is how we build relationships.
This is how we earn allies.
This is how we change laws.
Our Election Forum has everything you need—including candidate contact information, published questionnaires, and resources to help you communicate effectively.
Please use it. Then encourage a friend to do the same.
Wisconsin’s cannabis community has spent years asking legislators to listen.
Now candidates are campaigning and looking for voters.
Let’s make sure they hear us.
See you on the campaign trail,

Real reform doesn’t happen because politicians suddenly change their minds. It happens because ordinary people decide to show up, speak up, and stay involved. Let’s get to work.
