Republican John Spiros from Marshfield District 86 Marijuana Survey Results
Rep John Spiros (R-Marshfield) representing Wisconsin’s 86th Assembly District and Chair of the 2019 Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety which is holding up the Legalize Opportunity – Legalize Marijuana Bill (AB 220). In an interview before being re-elected in 2018, he seemed to think CBD Oil was the miracle cure and medical marijuana was not needed, while dismissing the opportunity marijuana reform presents.
He had a question about marijuana for the constituents that live within the following area early this spring on a 2019 GOP Assembly Spring Survey.
The voters in Marshfield, Aburndale, Browkaw, Marathon City, Kronenwetter, Mosinee and surrounding areas show 68% support for marijuana reform, yet Rep. Spiros lays idle on the issue. (District Map Link: https://maps.legis.wisconsin.gov/?asm=86&single=y)
“Legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational purposes has been proposed. Law enforcement, educators and the medical community oppose legalization. Which best describes your views on marijuana legalization?”
31% indicated “I do not support any legalization of marijuana use”,
20% indicated “I support full decriminalization of marijuana for recreational or medical use”,
48% indicated “I support limited medical legalization only”,
1% did not provide a response.
Again, he is the CHAIR of the 2019 Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety. https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2019/committees/assembly/1993
