Friends of Jay Selthofner Campaign Concert Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
WHAT: CAMPAIGN CONCERT
WHERE: Classics Sports Bar, 101 Blackburn St, Ripon Wisconsin 54971
WHEN: September 18th, 2010. 4pm – close
It is not often such a variety of entertainers from throughout the state of Wisconsin come together. To do so in a small town such as Ripon, well that is unheard of. What have these individuals heard that attracted their attention? The birthplace of the Republican Party puts historical Ripon on the map. The rich history of hemp cannabis puts the surrounding area on the marijuana map. Add those elements together, mix in a local Independent “Cannabis Candidate” for State Assembly and stir in the ripe political atmosphere, well, that sets the mood for a concert and of course, that has gotten everyone’s attention.
Friends of Jay Selthofner present a 10 (ten) band all evening jam and awareness mixer. The night will feature a variety of musical genres ranging from folk to metal to hip hop.
The all star line up will start with folk rock bank A Royal Clark, from Beaver Dam who “write honest tunes covered in the dust of the crumbling town they kick around in.”
Up next are Oshkosh bands Blockhead and Liquor Guns and Ammo who play a mixture of classic and new rock.
Ripon is represented proudly by stage pounding rockers Dreams will Fade who “are living a childhood dream of entertaining folks with music”.
Brok’n Arrow is a family band steeped in the musical melting pot of the last fifty years; weaving textures of style and intonation into the magic carpet that is Improv/Fusion Music.
The “progressive/experimental/rock” genre will be covered by [the] Commuter Exit, a group of five musical theorists from Rubicon who transmute an au fait sound.
Providing thrash/metal with a dab comedy will be Hienz-Dieter from Oshkosh, known as the one man show Roadkill Dinnerfest.
Founded in Ripon, Idiopath has many goals, one is to strengthen the scene of original music in Wisconsin and beyond, together they combine their shared off color humor and love of movies into their lyrics.
Smokes was born in Pusan, South Korea but he currently resides in Madison Wisconsin. He is one of the Midwest’s “Most Wanted Mc’s” and will be in the house.
4Legacy, from Milwaukee and southern Wisconsin are “a group of INDIVIDUALS way ahead of their time, but still they are coming to blow your mind with their musical talents.”
