More than 6,000 marijuana plants found in Rusk County

Rusk County (Press Release) – On Tuesday, August 2, Rusk County Sheriff’s Deputies received information about a marijuana grow in the northern part of Rusk County. Deputies located the marijuana that day. Silvestre Soto-Soto, age 41 was arrested at that time, at a location away from the grow operation.
As the investigation continued, more than 6000 marijuana plants were located, along with evidence of irrigation equipment. Other items found at the scene indicated that several persons had been living in tents at the location and tending to the plants on a regular basis.
The grow was located in the Town of Cedar Rapids, within the Flambeau River State Forest.
The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by officials from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Wisconsin DNR, and Ladysmith Police Dept. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
