My kids school in Green Lake needs your help in Pepsi Refresh Project

| |

Our school in Green Lake Wisconsin is in the running for $25,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project.  It is an honor for us to even be included, given the small student population.  These funds would mean the difference to every child in our school.
The Goals of the program are:
Raise funds to send Band & Choir to 2011 National Independence Day Parade
Encourage new students to participate in Band & Choir Programs
Give GL students a lifetime experience playing at National Events

Green Lake School Marching School

Overview
The project requires raising around $50,000 for sending approximately 40 students on the trip. We are conducting fund raising events and accepting donations from businesses and individuals, in and around the Green Lake Community. The GL Band was nominated by their US Congressman to represent the State of Wisconsin in the 2011 National Independence Day Parade at Washington, D.C. The Choir will perform in the National Festival of the States at NYC.

The GL School District is one of the smallest districts in Wisconsin with only 300 students, K to 12. The GL Band & Choir are a source of great pride in our small community, hit hard by the recession. Our community loves the high visability of our Band & Choir Programs, enjoying their participation in numerous community events. They are considered to be among the very best in the area, outscoring other conference bands and choirs in festivals.

How will the 25K be Used?

Budget Notes: Approximately only 1/2 the cost of transportation will be covered by fund raising and donations. Additional monies will be needed for the trip. The Green Lake community has been hit hard by the recession because this small community is primarily a tourist attraction in Central Wisconsin.
