Politicians found at Princeton Flea Market

| |

As the deadline is fast approaching for candidates to complete collecting signatures for their nomination papers, these guys and gals are everywhere, even the Princeton Flea Market.

The Friends of Jay Selthofner did not have a hard time finding marijuana themed merchants selling hemp necklaces and various other gear at the Princeton Flea Market as they collected signatures.  Some supporters and advocates for hemp cannabis from the State Assembly District 41 recognized me as I collected nomination signatures and many of them assured me they are voting for me and that I have a high probability of winning the election for State Assembly District 41 on November 2nd, 2010.

I asked around and was able to find both medical marijuana and recreational cannabis users at the flea market, both vending and buying, not marijuana, but their usual wares, at the Princeton Flea Market.  Marijuana users are just regular folks like you and me and sometimes we forget that.  The general consensus I got from the community that day is they are ready for a change and people are ready for our great state of Wisconsin to live up to our motto of  “Forward”.

I was not the only politician out at the Princeton Flea Market. Anywhere large crowds of people gather we are beginning to see politicians and their supporters out and about. I did not see my competition, Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan), Scott Milheiser, a Democrat from Fremont or Nicholas Quade, a Republican from Markesan; nor did I hear them mentioned often.

The Princeton Flea Market is a place where you never know what exactly you will find, but you always find something. I hope a few people discovered my campaign and took it home with them to share with friends.  I found another Independent candidate in Wisconsin, not for State Assembly District 41, but for Governor. Jim Langer himself was out collecting signatures.  Jim is an Independent Candidate for Governor of Wisconsin and his website can be found at .

In the whirlwind day of shaking hands, fielding questions and gathering signatures I found circulators  for Joseph C. Kallas also working hard on behalf of their candidate for the 6th Congressional District, which is currently held by Republican Tom Petri.  Democrats ask you help them with Joe’s nomination papers as I found on the following blog: http://jef4wi.blogspot.com/.

My wife’s grandmother used to sell antiques and other items at this flea market.  Their family has participated in and enjoyed the Princeton Flea Market for years.  It was very nice to be back and so well received.  I would also like to thank Renard’s European Bakeshop for allowing us to share their space, great hospitality and providing delicious baked goods.
