Jeremiah J Selthofner (pronounced Sell – toff – ner), sometimes called J.J. by friends, but best known as Jay Selthofner, is an Independent political candidate in Wisconsin. He is currently running for the Wisconsin State Assembly in District 41.
He has been married to Narin Selthofner for 10 years, and they have 3 children. He was raised in the small town of Poy Sippi in rural Waushara County but eventually planted his roots as part of Narin’s family farm in Green Lake.
Jay managed a successful investment and insurance practice as a financial representative with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network for almost a decade. This energetic young man is a Nine (9) Year Member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) and a 4-time winner of the NAIFA National Quality Award along with numerous company honors.
He is passionate about putting the will of the people back into politics, and he has worked hard for the last year as an outspoken citizen activist, meeting regularly with his State Assembly representative, Joan Ballweg, as well as Senator Luther Olsen and many, many others.
Jay Selthofner is a concerned citizen activist who is passionate about creating new jobs in farming and other sectors, improving our local economy, healing hurting patients, conserving natural resources, and many other issues.
Jay Selthofner is the Wisconsin ambassador for Americans for Safe Access, the Secretary for Wisconsin NORML, and a former board member for Madison NORML. He is the founder and current Executive Director of Northern Wisconsin NORML, which meets weekly at the Berlin, Wisconsin Public Library.

- Testified in public hearing for Assembly Bill 554/Senate Bill 368
- Published letters and numerous interviews on television, radio, print and internet media.
- Developed and organized T.H.C. Tour (Free expo style event with multi media educational materials and featured speakers/presenters from national organizations. Held in several locations statewide) (example: )
- Wisconsin Vigil for Patients, Statewide Lobby Day and Day of Prayer for Compassion co-organizer and volunteer.
- Free 4/20 Concert at Deacon Mills Park in Green Lake.
- Annual Potluck / Free Fishing Day Awareness mixer – working with the Department of Natural Resources to bring awareness and promote free fishing day in Wisconsin.
