The Waushara Argus
All letters to the editor must have a written signature, which will be
published. Please also include a telephone number and address so the letter can be verified, if necessary.
Letters should be typed double-spaced and be no longer than one page
in length. Each person may have no more than three letters printed per
year.
The Argus will not accept any “Thank yous” in the letters: ads may be
purchased for this cause.
We will not run any “political” letters to the editor the last two weeks
before any elections or referendums. If you wish to endorse a candidate,
you may do so by placing an ad.
It isn’t fair for someone to write a letter raising questions about a candidate, or issue, the week before an election and not allow a chance for
rebuttal. During these two weeks, both sides have an equal opportunity to
purchase ads in the paper to present their case. If they elect not to do so,
that is their decision.
The writer is often very upset about something when a letter is written.
We ask that all letter writers use common sense and caution. The letters
must not be personal attacks, but should be about issues. Letters may be
edited as we deem necessary.
Please submit all letters by 5 p.m. on Monday to appear in Wednesday’s
issue.
